The objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between the organizational climate and the leadership styles of school principals from a multifactorial perspective, in public educational centers of the Regional Directorate of Education in Heredia (Costa Rica). This research is developed from a quantitative approach, with an ex post facto and transversal design and a descriptive and correlational scope. A probability sample (n = 657) is used, composed of active teachers in preschool, elementary and secondary levels. A questionnaire was applied to collect data that contains different scales to measure the variables of the study. The results show a positive and significant relationship between organizational climate and transformational leadership style. They highlight the relationship between this style and the component of group cohesion, which is associated with the productivity of work teams. El clima organizacional y el liderazgo son temas que aportan elementos de análisis sustantivos para el accionar eficiente de los centros educativos. El objetivo de este estudio es analizar la relación entre el clima organizacional y los estilos de liderazgo de los directivos escolares desde una perspectiva multifactorial, en centros educativos públicos de la Dirección Regional de Educación de Heredia (Costa Rica). La investigación se desarrolla desde un enfoque cuantitativo, con un diseño ex post facto y transversal, y un alcance de carácter descriptivo y correlacional. Se utiliza una muestra probabilística (n = 657), compuesta por personal docente activo de los niveles de preescolar, primaria y secundaria. Se aplica un cuestionario para la recogida de datos que contiene diferentes escalas para medir las variables del estudio. Los hallazgos muestran una relación positiva y significativa entre el clima organizacional y el estilo de liderazgo transformacional. Destaca la relación entre este estilo y el componente de cohesión de grupo, el cual queda asociado con la productividad de los equipos de trabajo.
