To this end, it aims to analyze the work of the EAA and the integration of the Sede Interuniversitaria de Alajuela (SIA), generating data that allow replicating this relationship in other spaces. Due to the mixed nature of the establishment, it was decided to focus on the Environmental Award program, which will deepen this process. The information was collected from official sources, such as the EAA and the UCR. It was determined that the integration of different entities and the community play a fundamental role in environmental management. The advances of the SIA-UCR have contributed to the development of new projects, as well as others have been adapted to the specificities of the SIA and the context. An investigation of this type of link is strategic, since it allows us to understand and reflect on the role that environmental management programs could play in different areas. La investigación ha evidenciado que, pese a las diferencias administrativas de las distintas universidades estatales, el Equipo Asesor Ambiental (EAA) ha logrado una participación y colaboración interuniversitaria en materia ambiental, permitiendo procesos de innovación en dicha área. Este estudio pretende analizar el quehacer del EAA y su gestión ambiental en la Sede Interuniversitaria de Alajuela (SIA), generando datos que permitan replicar esta relación en otros espacios. Debido a la naturaleza mixta de esta indagación, se optó por centrarse en el programa Galardón Ambiental, lo que permitió profundizar sobre este proceso. La información se recopiló de fuentes oficiales, como el EAA y la Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR). Se determinó que la integración de diversas entidades y de la comunidad cumplen un rol fundamental en la gestión ambiental. Los avances de la SIA-UCR han contribuido al desarrollo de nuevos proyectos, asimismo otros se han adaptado a las especificidades de la SIA y del contexto. Una investigación de este tipo de nexos resulta estratégica, pues permite entender y reflexionar sobre el papel que podrían desempeñar los programas de gestión ambiental en diferentes ámbitos.
