Guidelines developed for the construction of the state of the art are described, with the aim of identifying patterns of configuration of a systematization of knowledge. The method used was grounded theory, through the paradigm of coding were elaborated the theoretical and explanatory categories as main axes for the development of the same. Among the results and conclusions, it is highlighted that there is a lack of studies regarding the academic success of this population, the research related to this topic are linked to educational support and the predominance of barriers in university contexts. El presente artículo reflexiona sobre el estado de conocimiento de las experiencias de éxito académico de las mujeres con discapacidad en la educación superior costarricense, en el periodo 2016-2020, con el objetivo de identificar las pautas que configuran el balance investigativo. El método utilizado fue la teoría fundamentada, se elaboraron categorías teóricas y explicativas. Entre los resultados y las conclusiones se destaca que existe una carencia de estudios referentes al éxito académico, las indagaciones vinculadas con esta temática se refieren a apoyos educativos y la predominancia de barreras en los contextos universitarios.
