CUBA, SANTIAGO DE CUBA, EDICIONES CASERÓN) Álvarez Pitaluga, Antonio HISTORY CULTURE NATION NATIONALITY HISTORIOGRAPHY HISTORIA CULTURA NACIÓN NACIONALIDAD HISTORIOGRAFÍA The following bibliographical review accounts one of the most recent publications of the Cuban historiography which balances the historical production of Cuba in its last decades, with emphasis on the period that goes from the year 1959 to 2016. It is  valued how the author of the text presents and focuses on the set of contemporary Cuban historiography from the perspective of his young generation, the most current of the island. Finally, a comparative analysis is proposed about the achievements and shortcomings of the work, which provides to the Costa Rican reader the possibility to  upgrade his knowledge about one of the historiographies with mayor tradition in  Latin America. La siguiente reseña bibliográfica da cuenta de una de las más recientes publicaciones de la historiografía cubana que hace un balance sobre la producción histórica de Cuba en sus últimas décadas, con énfasis desde el año 1959 al 2016. Se valora cómo el autor del texto presenta y enfoca el conjunto de la historiografía contemporánea cubana desde la mirada de su joven generación, la más actual de la isla. Por último, se propone un análisis comparativo sobre los aciertos y los desaciertos de la obra, dándole a la persona lectora costarricense, la posibilidad de actualizar sus  conocimientos sobre una de las historiografías con mayor tradición en América  Latina.
