Repercusiones de esta experiencia en la adultez Morales Méndez, Andrea Patricia Oviedo Loaiza, Sirey Yesendry Zúñiga Escobar, Myrna Siblings, palliative care, consequences, sickness, adulthood Hermanos, cuidado paliativo, repercusiones, enfermedad, adultez The objective of this research was to establish whether there are repercussions in adulthood after having experienced the palliative care disease process of a minor sibling during childhood or adolescence. The study follows a qualitative approach, a systematic design in grounded theory, and a typical case sample of four adults and two specialists in the subject. Both positive and negative effects were identified. Greater sensitivity to human pain, ease of empathy, and independence when making decisions were among the positive repercussions. The negative ones included fear of being vulnerable, difficulty relating to their parents, high-risk behaviors, among others. El objetivo de esta investigación fue establecer si existen repercusiones en la adultez tras haber vivido durante la infancia o adolescencia el proceso de enfermedad de cuidados paliativos de un hermano menor de edad. El enfoque fue cualitativo y el diseño teoría fundamentada de tipo sistemático. Se utilizó una muestra caso tipo compuesta por cuatro adultos y dos especialistas en el tema. Se identificaron repercusiones positivas y negativas. Entre las positivas se encuentra mayor sensibilidad ante el dolor humano, facilidad para empatizar e independencia a la hora de tomar decisiones. Como repercusiones negativas se identificó el temor a mostrarse vulnerables, dificultades para relacionarse con sus progenitores, conductas de alto riesgo, entre otras.
