Gente de Mar, Comercio Marítimo Nicaragüense. Seafarers are people who works shipboard. Seafarers Training can make the difference between a job well done or disaster. Without training seafarers risk of death, economic and environmental increase. Seafarers Training is a duty in several countries around the world, is regulated by the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers Convention (STCW/78) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and it’s amendments. Nicaragua adheres to this Convention in 2008 by Act # 5,547 and also supports it on the National Constitution Articles # 58, 80, 82.6, 85 and 86. Seafarers Training is essential for the Nicaraguan Maritime Trade as it provides: education, create new job opportunities, as well as benefits our Country by increasing the likelihood of Nicaragua joining the IMO’s white list and increasing the Nicaraguan Gross Domestic Product. La Gente de Mar son quienes trabajan abordo de embarcaciones. Esta Formación es indispensable, sin ella, el riesgo de muerte, daños económicos y ambientales se incrementan drásticamente. Está regulada internacionalmente por el Convenio para la Formación, Titulación y Guarda de la Gente de Mar (STCW/78) de la Organización Marítima Internacional (OMI) y sus enmiendas. Nicaragua se adhiere a este Convenio en el año 2008 mediante el Decreto No. 5,547 y lo respalda en su Constitución Política con los Artos. No. 58, 80, 82.6, 85 y 86. Es clave para el Comercio Marítimo Nicaragüense ya que provee: educación, nuevas fuentes de empleo y permite que el país sea admitido en la Lista Blanca de la OMI, incrementando así su competitividad a nivel internacional y su producto interno bruto mediante las remesas familiares.
