This retrospective analysis tries to find out how 15 EFL professors from a public university incorporated OER in their language classes before and during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Therefore, the question guiding this inquiry is how did EFL teachers used and use OER before and after the COVID-19 Pandemic in their learning environments? A qualitative methodology is proposed, using the units of analysis for convenience. The results of the research indicate that since and before the COVID 19 Pandemic, public higher education institutions have made the (OER) available to teachers, that their use depended before the teacher’s motivation to use them, but that currently they are material support in the lessons. However, better training plans and technological infrastructure are still needed for a better dissemination of knowledge with the use of these digital resources. Los Recursos Educativos Abiertos (REA) se han convertido en complementos importantes para las transformaciones pedagógicas que se han dado a raíz de la pandemia COVID-19. Este análisis retrospectivo trata de analizar la forma en la que 15 profesores de inglés como Lengua Extranjera (ILE) de una universidad pública incorporaban e incorporan los REA en sus clases de lengua antes y durante la pandemia. Por ello, la pregunta que guía esta indagación es ¿de qué manera el profesorado de ILE ha utilizado los REA antes y después de la pandemia COVID-19 en sus entornos de aprendizaje? Para contestar esta interrogante, se propone una metodología cualitativa, utilizando las unidades de análisis por conveniencia. Los resultados de la investigación indican que desde antes de la pandemia las instituciones de educación superior públicas tienen a disposición del profesorado los REA, los cuales dependían de la motivación de la persona docente para utilizarlos. Actualmente, son materiales de apoyo en las lecciones. Sin duda alguna, se requiere todavía de mejores planes de formación y de infraestructura tecnológica para más difusión del conocimiento con el uso de estos recursos digitales.
