(Desde la mirada de estudiantes de licenciatura de la carrera de Sociología de la Universidad Nacional, Costa Rica) Pérez Carrillo, Yolanda investigation state of art methodological process investigación estado de la cuestión proceso metodológico The purpose of this article is to present the results of an academic exercise that was developed for the undergraduate students of the career of Sociology. During their process of preparing the research proposal, they formulated the state of art based on a methodological guide elaborated by the professor. This guide helped them to elaborate the state of art section, so they generated the necessary inputs for a critical analysis of research lines, referred to the authors’ proposals, both in contrast as meeting points, leading to the construction of new knowledge from the critical reflection of previous research. It allows to guide problematizations in diverse research topics with theoretical support. Also, it allows the opening of new lines of research for other professionals to continue investigating.The exercise allowed students, in atheoretical and practical way, to elaborate in a methodical and structured way the section corresponding to the different topics of interest. This contributes to identify lines of investigation, which allowed students to problematize according to their diverse interests.There are many guidelines that refer to the state of art, however the aim of this proposal is to point out some aspects and processes that people who initiate in the research process should consider when they begin with the elaboration of this section. Este artículo se centra en presentar el resultado de un ejercicio académico desarrollado para que estudiantes de licenciatura de la carrera de Sociología, en su proceso de elaboración de la propuesta de investigación, formularan el estado de la cuestión a partir de una guía metodológica elaborada por la docente, de tal forma que ésta les facilitara la elaboración de dicho apartado -estado de la cuestión-, generando con ello los insumos necesarios para un análisis crítico de líneas de investigación referidas a las propuestas de autores, tanto en contraste como puntos de encuentro, conduciendo así a la construcción de nuevos conocimientos a partir de la reflexión crítica de investigaciones previas. Es a partir de lo anterior, que esta reflexión permite orientar problematizaciones en diversas temáticas investigativas con sustento teórico, aunado a que permite la apertura de nuevas líneas de investigación para que otros profesionales continúen investigando. El ejercicio permitió que los estudiantes, de forma teórica y práctica, elaboraran el apartado correspondiente a los diversos temas de interés de una forma metódica y estructurada, contribuyendo con ello a identificar líneas de investigación que les permitieran problematizar según sus diversos intereses. Hay muchasorientaciones que refieren al estado de la cuestión; sin embargo, en este escrito, se apunta a señalar algunos aspectos y procesos que las personas que se inician en la investigación deben considerar cuando elaboran dicho apartado.
