The starting point is the discussion aboutthe relevance of post-colonial analysis for the study of the social formationsof our region. For this purpose an approximation is made to the state of thedebates regarding the scope, limitations and conflicts that this field of studyfaces. Next it is argued the pertinence of enhance its approaches from a LatinAmericanist stance that favors the construction of routes of research andperspectives of non-Eurocentric knowledge, located in our own context, andwithout an inferiority complex in order to defend the traditionally subordinatedbut rebellious place of the Latinamerican-We. Este ensayo desarrolla una reflexión sobre algunos de los abordajes teóricosa partir de los cuales distintas corrientes de investigación se han aproximadoal problema de la continuidad colonial en América Latina. El punto departida es la discusión sobre la pertinencia del análisis poscolonial para elestudio de las formaciones sociales de nuestra región. Para ello, se presentaun acercamiento al estado actual de los debates sobre los alcances, limitacionesy conflictos que enfrenta este campo de estudio, y luego, se argumentasobre la necesidad de enriquecer sus enfoques desde un posicionamientolatinoamericanista que favorezca la construcción de rutas de investigacióny perspectivas de conocimiento no eurocéntricas, situadas en nuestros contextoy sin complejos de inferioridad para defender el lugar tradicionalmentesubordinado pero rebelde del nosotros latinoamericano.
