P. Spinometra gigantica, sp. nov. is described from the duodenum and ileum of a fresh-water tortoise Cyclemys amboinensis (Gray) from India. The genus Spinometra Mehra, 1931 is briefly reviewed, its diagnosis is emended and a key is given to differentiate its valid species.
