Una mirada desde la Pedagogía Crítica Orozco V., Luis Pablo Education critical pedagogy youth citizenship Educación pedagogía crítica juventud ciudadanía This work presents a brief analysis of the experiences and collective imaginary of the youth population in the socio-historical and cultural contexts of the early 21st Century. It addresses the challenges, problems, opportunities and projects of this population from the perspective of critical pedagogy to, in order to analyze the issue from the viewpoint of the youths, their participation in the sphere of education, labor market, entertainment, and political organizations. The paper incorporates findings derived from field work on critical pedagogy carried out during 2009 in a rural community of Costa Rica. Este artículo presenta un análisis de las experiencias e imaginarios de la juventud dentro del contexto socio histórico y cultural de inicios del siglo veintiuno, que se sustenta en el espacio de la ciudadanía. Se realiza un abordaje de los desafíos, las problemáticas, las posibilidades y los proyectos pospositivos de la juventud, deteniéndose en los aportes de la pedagogía crítica para describir el problema desde el concepto del joven, su participación en el ámbito educativo, laboral, ocio y organizaciones políticas. Al final del ensayo, se rescata la experiencia de un trabajo de campo en Pedagogía Crítica con jóvenes, efectuado durante el año 2009 en una comunidad rural de Costa Rica.
