Social studies and critical citizenship are problematized in the writing as fields that produce antagonisms in contemporary societies, due to the political character of their teaching. A continuación, se reproduce la conferencia del Dr. Sebastián Plá Pérez, de la UNAM (México), dictada como parte del lanzamiento de la Red Centroamericana de Investigación y Docencia en Estudios Sociales y Ciudadanía Crítica (RECIDEC), el 28 de mayo de 2019. En el escrito se problematizan los estudios sociales y la ciudadanía como campos que producen antagonismos en las sociedades actuales, debido al carácter político de su enseñanza.
