Given this new context, Ignatian accompaniment emerges as a hope and a pedagogical proposal to guide today’s young people who have to live and face a new cultural reality. The objective of this essay is to describe the essential characteristics of Ignatian accompaniment in a contemporary context. The considerations that were reached are: The Ignatian companion is a person of faith, integrity and a teacher with a particular profile; the accompaniment leads the teacher and students through a dialogue towards an integral human and faith education, and Ignatian accompaniment requires using the tools of the digital world to guide youngsters from their natural every day relationship spaces. En los comienzos del siglo XXI, vivimos una época de incertidumbre y perplejidad histórica, dominada por la confusión, el desorden y la desesperanza. Ante este nuevo contexto, el acompañamiento ignaciano emerge como una esperanza y una propuesta pedagógica para orientar a los jóvenes actuales a quienes les toca vivir y afrontar una nueva realidad cultural. El objetivo de este ensayo es describir las características esenciales del acompañamiento ignaciano en el contexto contemporáneo. Las consideraciones que se alcanzaron son: el acompañante ignaciano es una persona de fe, íntegra y un maestro con un perfil particular; el acompañamiento conduce al educador y al educando en diálogo hacia una formación integral, humana y en la fe; y el acompañamiento ignaciano requiere hacer uso de las herramientas del mundo digital, para guiar al joven desde sus espacios naturales de relación cotidiana.
