The population sample participating in this study was comprised of middle and high school students. This research was executed using mixed methods in order to identify the determining factors for young people who plan to have success in facing the daily life challenges, as well as today’s society demands, through a solid construction of their private vision of the future. The results of this project determine that the features which allow the conclusion of students’ life projects are closely related with a high self-esteem and motivation, as well as some emotional intelligence that allow students to visualize a successful personal and professional future. El objetivo de este estudio es evidenciar los factores que permiten a las generacionesjóvenes llevar a cabo, de manera efectiva, sus proyectos de vida, planteándose metas a corto, medianoy largo plazo. La muestra con la que se trabajó fue un grupo de estudiantes de nivel secundaria ypreparatoria. Esta investigación se realizó usando métodos mixtos con el fin de identificar aquellosfactores que fueron determinantes en jóvenes que consideran tener éxito al enfrentar los retos dela vida diaria y las demandas de la sociedad actual, a través de una construcción sólida de su visiónpersonal a futuro. Los resultados de este proyecto de investigación indican que las característicasque permiten la conclusión de los proyectos de vida están íntimamente relacionadas con una altaautoestima y motivación, así como con cierta inteligencia emocional, condiciones que permitenidealizar un futuro exitoso, tanto personal, como profesional.
