This work aimed to identify the effect of transformational and transactional leadership in the design and implementation of organizational strategies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method. The study used a quantitative methodology with a non-experimental cross-sectional design; the scope was descriptive and correlational. The instruments were applied to 294 workers from six technological higher secondary education institutions in Tabasco, Mexico. Results. Significant correlations were found between transformational and transactional leadership related to the design and implementation of strategies carried out in these educational institutions. Another finding was that sociodemographic characteristics, such as gender, marital status, and job seniority, do not influence the levels of perception of the design or implementation of organizational strategies. Conclusions. It is concluded that leadership styles in the institution are related to and influence the design and implementation of the proposed strategies. Objetivo. Identificar los niveles de percepción del liderazgo transformacional y del liderazgo transaccional en el diseño e implementación de la estrategia organizacional en la fase de la pandemia COVID-19. Metodología. Se utilizó metodología cuantitativa con un diseño no experimental transversal, el alcance fue descriptivo y correlacional. Los instrumentos se aplicaron a 294 personas trabajadoras de seis instituciones de educación media superior tecnológica ubicadas en Tabasco, México. Resultados. Se encontraron correlaciones significativas entre los liderazgos transformacional y transaccional con el diseño e implementación de estrategias que se han llevado a cabo en dichas instituciones educativas. Otro hallazgo fue que las características sociodemográficas como el género, el estado civil y la antigüedad laboral no influyen en los niveles de percepción del diseño o implementación de estrategias organizacionales. Conclusiones. Se concluye que los estilos de liderazgo en la institución se relacionan e influyen en el diseño e implementación de las estrategias planteadas. Objetivo. O objetivo deste trabalho foi identificar o efeito da liderança transformacional e da liderança transacional no desenho e implementação da estratégia organizacional durante a pandemia do COVID-19. Metodologia. Foi utilizada metodologia quantitativa com delineamento transversal não experimental, sendo o escopo descritivo e correlacional. Os instrumentos foram aplicados a 294 trabalhadores de seis instituições de ensino superior tecnológico localizadas em Tabasco, México. Resultados. Foram encontradas correlações significativas entre liderança transformacional e transacional em relação ao desenho e implementação de estratégias que vêm sendo realizadas nessas instituições de ensino. Outro achado foi que características sociodemográficas como sexo, estado civil e tempo de serviço não influenciaram os níveis de percepção de desenho ou implementação das estratégias organizacionais. Conclusões.
