Regarding medical issues, they are (a) the need to link the curricular contents with reality and the particular context in which each person who takes part in the educational process is located, and (b) the importance of vocation in teaching practice and the role of self-criticism as part of the feedback. The challenges identified are related to these three aspects: a) critical reflection; b) breaks with traditional paradigms; and c) teacher mediation. Finally, collective strategies to confront them are proposed, which are based on research, constructivism, and reflexive, horizontal, and dialogical planning. El presente ensayo tiene como objetivo principal aportar reflexiones en torno al siguiente tema generador: “La docente y el docente de hoy: Una persona que informa, inspira y forma”. Por tanto, el eje y el título propuestos articulan las ideas a partir de la relación entre la didáctica y el contexto actual. En lo que respecta a los temas medulares son: a) la necesidad de vincular los contenidos curriculares con la realidad y el contexto particular en que se ubica cada persona que participa del proceso educativo y b) la importancia de la vocación en la práctica docente y el papel que desempeña la autocrítica como parte de la retroalimentación. Los retos identificados se relacionan con tres aspectos: a) la reflexión crítica, b) las rupturas con paradigmas tradicionales y c) la mediación docente. Finalmente, se plantean estrategias colectivas para enfrentarlos, que se basan en la investigación, el constructivismo y la planificación reflexiva, horizontal y dialógica. O objetivo principal deste ensaio é contribuir com reflexões sobre o seguinte tema gerador: “A docente e o docente de hoje: uma pessoa que informa, inspira e forma”. Portanto, o eixo e o título propostos articulam as ideias com base na relação entre didática e o contexto atual. Em relação aos temas centrais, estes são: a) a necessidade de vincular o conteúdo curricular à realidade e ao contexto particular em que se localiza cada pessoa que participa do processo educacional; b) a importância da vocação na prática docente e o papel da autocrítica como parte da retroalimentação. Os desafios identificados referem-se a três aspectos: a) reflexão crítica, b) ruptura com paradigmas tradicionais e c) mediação de professores. Por fim, são propostas estratégias coletivas para enfrentá-las, baseadas em pesquisa, construtivismo e planejamento reflexivo, horizontal e dialógico.
