For this study, the total deposition characteristicsobtained in the ZPCE during 2015’s rainy season were analyzed. The pH parameters and field conductivity wereassessed. The Cl-, SO4-2 and NO3- anions were determined by ion exchange chromatography while the Ca+2 andMg+2 cations were analyzed by atomic absorption. It was possible to identify acid rain (pH less than 5.6) in 90%of the ZPCE samples. There is more acidic pH distribution in the northwest part of ZPCE. The pH, as H+ concentration,presents a moderate conductivity correlation (0.585), according to Kolhraush’s law. The most abundant rainions collected are as follows, in decreasing order: CO3-2 > Cl- > SO4-2> NO3-. The ion correlations were high(more than 0.7) between Cl- and Mg + 2, between Ca+ 2 and CO3-2 and moderate (more than 0.4) between SO4-2and NO3-. La Zona Protectora de los cerros de Escazú (ZPCE) es una zona planteada como sumidero de contaminantes dentrodel Valle Central Occidental (VCO) de Costa Rica. Se analizaron las características de la deposición total obtenidade la ZPCE durante la época lluviosa del año 2015. Se evaluaron los parámetros de pH y conductividad en campo,mientras que los aniones (Cl-, SO4-2, NO3-) fueron determinados por cromatografía de intercambio iónico y loscationes (Ca+2 y Mg+2) se analizaron por absorción atómica. La ZPCE presenta lluvias ácidas (pH menor a 5,6) enel 90% de las muestras. El pH presenta una distribución más ácida en la parte noroeste de la ZPCE. El pH, comoconcentración de H+ presenta una correlación moderada (0,585) con la conductividad según la ley de Kolhraush.Los iones más abundantes en la lluvia recolectada son en orden decreciente: CO3-2 > Cl- > SO4-2> NO3- Las correlacionesde los iones fueron elevadas (mayor a 0,7) entre Cl- y Mg+2, entre Ca+2 y CO3-2. y moderada (mayora 0,4) entre SO4-2 y NO3-.
