This analysis is made based onthe experiences of immigrants interviewed in 2011 atFM4 Paso Libre, Casa del Migrante in Guadalajara, Jalisco.We approached this analysis through the methodology oforal history, in which someone’s testimony constitutes thefundamental structure of transition between memory andhistory. Moreover, we found another methodological support in two historical categories proposed by Koselleck:space of experience and horizon of expectation.These categories refers, respectively,to what has been experienced already andto what it is expected to be experienced.This paper focuses on unraveling the motivesthat push people away to migrate and, inthe hardships they find in their way to theNorth through Mexico. This is an exploratoryarticle so it represents a first approachto the bulk of complexities of immigrationas a phenomenon. El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar las múltiples peripecias que los migrantes centroamericanos pasan en su tránsito por México. Análisis que se hará con base en las vivencias de migrantes que fueron entrevistados en 2011 en FM4 Paso Libre, Casa del Migrante de Guadalajara, Jalisco. Para ello nos apoyaremos en la metodología de la historia oral, en la que el testimonio constituye la estructura fundamental de transición entre la memoria y la historia, y, por otro lado, en el auxilio que para el análisis nos pueden proporcionar dos categorías históricas propuestas por Koselleck: espacio de experiencia y horizonte de expectativa; las cuales se refieren respectivamente a lo que se ha experimentado y lo que se espera experimentar. Con base en todo ello, el trabajo se enfoca en desentrañar los motivos que los orillan a emigrar, las vivencias -o peripecias- que pasaron en su tránsito por México, qué opinión les merece su travesía por el país, entre otros elementos. Cabe destacar que este artículo es de carácter exploratorio y es apenas un primer acercamiento a la vasta temática del fenómeno migratorio centroamericano.
