Our work addressed elements of French science and technology in Panama, seeking to demonstrate the exchange of knowledge between the Isthmus of Panama and the third French republic. We begin by contextualizing the French history of the 19th century, followed by the concepts and theories that guide us based on the theme, then the analysis of the works found, to finally discuss the results found in the first stage of the investigation. Esta revisión bibliográfica obedece al examen de las primeras fuentes encontradas en el marco de la investigación La Ciencias Francesa en Panamá: Conocimiento, Identidad y Republicanismo en la “Era del Canal Francés” 1876-1903. Nuestro trabajo abordó elementos de la ciencia y tecnología francesa en Panamá, buscando demostrar el intercambio de conocimiento entre el Istmo de Panamá y la tercera república francesa. Iniciamos contextualizando la historia francesa del siglo XIX, seguido los conceptos y teorías que nos orientan en función de la temática, luego el análisis de las obras encontradas, para finalmente discutir los resultados encontrados en la primera etapa de la investigación.
