To achieve the stated purpose, some other specific ones are needed, such as: describing the behavior of ship traffic, establishing the patterns of variation of maritime cargo, examining the behavior of toll revenues in the study period, analyzing the source of growth. of the toll revenue and establish the modifications of the KPIs. For this purpose, the Cobb-Douglas model, multiple regression, inferential and descriptive statistics have been used. The results achieved indicate that, in effect, investments in capital improvements have led to a technological change. However, the source of tolls is mainly the increase in toll rates and, to a lesser extent, the increase in the freight transported. Finally, the company's KPIs, verified over time, show mixed results. The study is novel given the low literary production on the subject and contributes to appreciate the effects of the investments applied in this important infrastructure of international trade. El presente estudio tiene el propósito de establecer si el tercer juego de esclusas del canal de Panamá ha significado o no un cambio en los servicios logísticos que brinda y los indicadores de desempeño. Para alcanzar el propósito enunciado es preciso algunos otros específicos tales como: describir el comportamiento del tránsito de naves, establecer los patrones de variación de la carga marítima, examinar al comportamiento de los ingresos por peaje en el periodo de estudio, analizar la fuente de crecimiento del ingreso por peaje y establecer las modificaciones de los KPI.  Para tal fin se han empleado el modelo Cobb-Douglas, regresión múltiple, la estadística inferencial y descriptiva. Los resultados alcanzados indican que, en efecto, las inversiones en mejoras de capital han derivado en un cambio tecnológico. Sin embargo, los peajes tienen como fuente fundamentalmente en el aumento de las tarifas de peaje y en menor medida, sobre el aumento de la carga transportada. Finalmente, los KPI de la empresa, contrastados en el tiempo, muestran resultados mixtos. El estudio es novedoso dada la baja producción literaria sobre el tema y contribuye a apreciar los efectos de las inversiones aplicadas en esta importante infraestructura del comercio internacional.
