A new oportunity of privatization appears on the horizon with the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) proposed by the United States in coincidence with economics of IMF and MB.Moreover, the article visualizes that the expansionist interest of United States is not only present in this trade, but in the world geopolitics changes as result of their military intervention against Afganistan and Irak. El autor se refiere al intento de privatización de las telecomunicaciones en Costa Rica y las movilizaciones sociales de oposición, frente al “combo energético”. Un nuevo intento de privatización aparece en los alcances del Tratado del Libre Comercio propuesto por los Estados Unidos coincidente con las políticas económicas de privatización del FMI y del BM. El artículo además visualiza el interés expansionista de los Estados Unidos no solo con este Tratado, sino con los cambios en la geopolítica mundial producto de las intervenciones militares de ese país en Afganistán e Irak.
