Representations about this late 19th century publication and its link in the museum with curatorial script in the last decade of the 20th century are introduced. Thedocumentary review demonstrates meanings about the nineteenth century nation and the construction of a historical narrative from the written and visual plane in Colombia. El propósito del documento es revisar la construcción y la representación de la modernidad en el Papel Periódico Ilustrado, en su entorno y al interior del Museo Nacional de Colombia. Se introduce representaciones sobre esta publicación de final del siglo xix y su vinculación en el museo con su guion curatorial en la última década del siglo xx. La revisión documental demuestra significados sobre la nación decimonónica y la construcción de una narrativa histórica desde el plano escrito y visual en Colombia.
