The fieldwork was carried out mainly during the month of July 2015 and included observations and informal interviews. The results show that the practices of institutional commensality are strongly regulated and modeled by the organizational context. Este artículo explora las prácticas de comensalidad de los empleados que almuerzan en un banco en Santiago de Chile, con el fin de comprender y caracterizar la forma en que se desarrolla la comida compartida en contextos laborales. El trabajo de campo se realizó principalmente durante el mes de julio de 2015 e incluyó observaciones y entrevistas informales. Los resultados evidencian que las prácticas de comensalidad institucional están fuertemente normadas y modeladas por el contexto organizacional.
