Rhizospheric fungi were isolated, determining significant differences in the total number of isolates for the crop cycle variables, rhizosphere sections (soil section, root section, soil+root mixture), phenological phases (vegetative, flowering, maturation) and dilutions (10-1 to 10-7). The biological activity (antagonism) of rhizospheric fungi against Pyricularia oryzae was evaluated. Twenty fungal strains were isolated that showed antagonistic activity against P. oryzae, 2 strains correspond to the species Aspergillus flavus, 3 to Aspergillus niger, 2 to Aspergillus spp, 2 to Penicillium sp (morphotype r1), 5 to Penicillium sp (morphotype r2) and 6 to Trichoderma sp (fungal morphotypes were molecularly identified by sequencing the ITS genes). The present investigation developed the bioprospecting and characterization of rhizospheric fungi against pathogens of rice cultivars, as a possible alternative to the use of chemical synthesis fungicides. Se tomaron muestras de la rizósfera del arroz (Oryza sativa) de la variedad GAB 8, en una parcela bajo la modalidad de agricultura orgánica de subsistencia. Se aislaron hongos rizosféricos determinando diferencias significativas en el total de aislamientos para las variables ciclos de cultivo, secciones de la rizósfera (sección suelo, sección raíz, mezcla de suelo+raíz), fases fenológicas (vegetativa, floración, maduración) y diluciones (10-1 a 10-7). Se evaluó la actividad biológica (antagonismo) de hongos rizosféricos contra Pyricularia oryzae. Se aislaron 20 cepas fúngicas que mostraron actividad antagónica contra P. oryzae, 2 cepas corresponden a la especie Aspergillus flavus, 3 a Aspergillus niger, 2 a Aspergillus spp, 2 a Penicillium sp (morfotipo r1), 5 a Penicillium sp (morfotipo r2) y 6 a Trichoderma sp (los morfotipos fúngicos se identificaron molecularmente secuenciando los genes ITS). La presente investigación desarrolló la bioprospección y caracterización de hongos rizosféricos contra patógenos de cultivares de arroz, como posible alternativa al uso de fungicidas de síntesis química.
