El Salvador has not been immune to the processes of social change; youth has played a fundamental role in generating social change, participating actively in the political, economic and cultural dimensions. Due to the current context of the country, it is necessary to make visible the historical and current role played by youth, and to do so, it is necessary to analyze the theoretical and historical factors that contribute to explain the phenomenon. In order to determine the fundamental role they have played in the struggle to achieve social changes, the historical path of the phenomenon in Salvadoran society is analyzed, identifying who have been the key actors, then the generational change is presented, and its impacts on the political and economic dimensions, ending with an analysis of the fundamental role played by the cultural dimension in social changes El cambio social es un fenómeno constante en la historia de las sociedades. El Salvador no ha sido ajeno a los procesos de cambio social; la juventud ha desempeñado un rol fundamental para generar cambios sociales, participando activamente en las dimensiones política, económica y cultural. Debido al contexto actual del país es necesario visibilizar el rol histórico y actual que está desempeñando la juventud, y para ello, es menester analizar los factores teóricos e históricos que contribuyen a explicar el fenómeno.
