Now, for the public university to change and to be able to change the country, it needs to have an academic quality that borders on excellence, to promote an academic revolution, to free itself from the partisan instrumentalization into which the FMLN party put it, and to leave behind the mechanisms of electoral and labor corruption that, protected by autonomy and university democracy, have it in an unenviable state in academics El artículo tiene como objetivo realizar un abordaje crítico y comprensivo del papel que debe jugar la universidad pública en la transformación social del país en el siglo XXI, es decir, reinventar la universidad para reinventar el país, con el propósito de que se convierta en un referente de autoridad científica, tecnológica y humanista de las transformaciones que impulsa el gobierno del presidente Nayib Bukele.
