Globalization, the technological revolution, multipolarity and transnational threats have generated a scenario characterized by unprecedented complexity, which challenges traditional notions of sovereignty, security and governance. In this context, it is essential to analyze the main dynamics that shape contemporary international politics and impose the aforementioned challenges to traditional power structures, as well as to reflect on the implications and possible scenarios of this ever-changing system. Analyzing the main transformations of the international system, their causes and implications, and the challenges facing both States and international actors in this new era is an imperative for the discipline of International Relations, academia and society as a whole. This new issue of the Revista de Relaciones Internacionales aims to contribute to this purpose by offering various articles that contribute to the theoretical discussion and knowledge of the international reality; it assumes with scientific rigor the responsibility of opening spaces for the academic community and the society to which it is owed. El siglo XXI ha presenciado una profunda transformación del sistema internacional, marcada por la emergencia de nuevos actores, la reconfiguración del poder, la intensificación de los desafíos globales y la crisis de las instituciones internacionales. La globalización, la revolución tecnológica, la multipolaridad y las amenazas transnacionales han generado un escenario que se caracteriza por una complejidad sin precedentes, la cual reta las nociones tradicionales de soberanía, seguridad y gobernanza. En este contexto, resulta imprescindible analizar las principales dinámicas que configuran la política internacional contemporánea e imponen los mencionados desafíos a las estructuras tradicionales de poder, así como también, reflexionar sobre las implicaciones y los posibles escenarios de este sistema en constante cambio. Analizar las principales transformaciones del sistema internacional, sus causas e implicaciones y los desafíos que enfrentan tanto los Estados como actores internacionales en esta nueva era es un imperativo para la disciplina de las Relaciones Internacionales, la academia y la sociedad en su conjunto. Este nuevo número de la Revista de Relaciones Internacionales pretende contribuir con ese propósito, ofreciendo diversos artículos que aportan a la discusión teórica y al conocimiento de la realidad internacional; asume con rigurosidad científica la responsabilidad de abrir espacios para la comunidad académica y la sociedad a la cual se debe.
