The questions that guided this article are: under what conditions did the internalization of the relaxation mechanisms of the Kyoto Protocol took place in the Brazilian domestic context? How has this internalization influenced the identities and interests of the business sector in Brazil and contributed to strengthening a domestic climate change governance arena? To achieve this objective, process tracing was used as the primary methodological tool from a constructivist approach to International Relations to understand the dynamics of interaction between the global and the national from the perspective of non-state actors. El presente artículo abordó el proceso de adecuación ideacional entre las arenas internacional y doméstica en materia de cambio climático en Brasil, a partir del estudio de la internalización y localización de mecanismos de mercado por parte del sector privado brasileño. Las preguntas que guiaron este artículo han sido las siguientes, ¿en qué condiciones se produjo la internalización de los mecanismos de flexibilización del Protocolo de Kioto en el contexto doméstico brasileño? ¿De qué manera esta internalización incidió sobre las identidades y los intereses del sector empresarial en Brasil y contribuyó a fortalecer una arena de gobernanza doméstica del cambio climático? Para alcanzar este objetivo, se recurrió al rastreo de procesos como principal herramienta metodológica desde un abordaje constructivista de las Relaciones Internacionales, para comprender las dinámicas de interacción entre lo global y lo nacional desde la perspectiva de actores no estatales.
