As so many other popular terms in the history of the Social Sciences during the XXth and XXIst centuries, whose conceptualization was weak buy attractive for its ubiquity which transformed them into intellectual they morphed into fashionable words with little or no usage or validity whatsoever for a rigorous analysis of social phenomena to which they were supposed to be applied. In this sketchy summary of ideas, we will propose a usage which we think will allow to establish and formulate in a more solid manner these notions (complexity, interdiscipline, transdiscipline), transforming them in conceptual instruments for analytic tasks in present day sociology, within the appropriate epistemological framework for the study of hypercomplex systems; which are, in fact, a superior and peculiar category of complex systems. El uso indiscriminado —y a menudo inconsistente—, en la repetición abusiva de palabras tales como complejidad, interdisciplina y transdisciplina, hace que el territorio intelectual que estos vocablos parecen evocar se torne cada vez más vacuo e inútil. Como tantos otros términos populares en la historia de las ciencias sociales del siglo XX y XXI, cuya conceptualización era débil, pero atractiva, dado que su ubicuidad los convertía en “comodines” intelectuales de amplia utilización (función, estructura, dialéctica, etnicidad, etc.) hasta volverse solo palabras de moda con poca o ninguna validez y utilidad para un análisis riguroso de fenómenos sociales, a los cuales se suponía que se aplicaba. En este escueto sumario de ideas, propondremos un uso que nos parece establecer y formular de manera sólida esas nociones, convirtiéndolas en instrumentos conceptuales de trabajo analítico en la sociología actual, dentro de una perspectiva epistemológica apropiada para el estudio de lo que denominamos sistemas hipercomplejos, que son, en realidad, una categoría superior y peculiar de sistemas complejos.
