In the present article we develop a description of the commitment of The School of Culture and Sports of the Technological Institute of Costa Rica, with respect to its groups of art; this, from the perspective of the importance of the latter in the student’s life and their integral education. Therefore, the main purpose of this document it’s to visualize the integral development of the students through the courses that are offered in the sphere of art, mainly in the dance area, besides the benefits and opportunities that such courses can provide to the student body. The discussion is centered upon what we previously mentioned: Dance groups. These groups have been gradually created, since the founding of the School and presently they are 11, which according to their members, are a window towards a more humane and emotional aspect of life; in addition to how these groups help professionals to be more creative, realist and sensitive. Therefore, it is possible to conclude without doubt that these projects offered by the School of Culture and Sports, are paths towards the preparation of students that are more integral in their formation, with special skills in diverse areas which promote healthy lifestyles, positive values and a great sense of creativity. En el presente artículo se realiza una descripción del cometido de la Escuela de Cultura y Deporte del Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica con respecto a sus grupos artísticos, desde una perspectiva de la importancia de ellos en la vida estudiantil y su educación integral. Por consiguiente, el objetivo principal del presente documento es visibilizar el desarrollo integral del estudiantado mediante los diversos cursos que se imparten en el ámbito del arte, principalmente en el ámbito de la danza, además de los beneficios y oportunidades que estos cursos le puedan aportar a la comunidad estudiantil. La discusión se encuentra alrededor de lo mencionado anteriormente: grupos de danza. Estos grupos se han ido formando poco a poco desde la creación de la Escuela y en la actualidad presentan 11 grupos, los cuales, según sus integrantes, son una ventana hacia el lado más humano y sentimental. Además de cómo estos ayudan al profesional a ser más realistas, creativos y sensibles. Por consiguiente, es posible concluir que, sin lugar a dudas, estos proyectos impartidos por la Escuela de Cultura y Deporte son mecanismos para un para formar estudiantes más integrales, con habilidades y destrezas características en diversas áreas, además, estas promueven estilos de vida saludables, formación de valores y un gran sentido de la creatividad.
