Educación superior; derechos humanos; valores; Humanismo. This article presents the development of an exploratory research project conducted from 2018 to 2019. The project’s purpose was to determine how human rights and values are present in some courses of the Center for General Studies (CEG), the Costa Rican Humanistic College, and the CEG's Master's Degree in Humanism, Society and Environment. The study was part of the activities of Education in Values and Human Rights Project in Teacher Training, of the German Cooperation Agency (DAAD), developed by the University of Ösnabruck, the University of Costa Rica, and the National University (CEG-CIDE). During 2019, each university performed the documentary analysis of the programs and applied the focus groups and the questionnaires in selected academic units. For the documentary analysis, the National University worked with the programs of the Costa Rican Humanistic High School courses, which can be eligible for a transfer credit process at the General Studies Center; those courses corresponded to the 2018 in-depth program and were part of a pilot plan. The National University also worked with the programs of the Center for General Studies and of the Master in Humanism, Society and Environment. The results show that human rights and values topics are implicitly present in most of the programs analyzed. It is recommended to make these issues explicit and to address them intentionally in the courses, so as to achieve greater coherence between humanist theory and practice in the classroom. Este artículo presenta el desarrollo de una investigación exploratoria, la cual se llevó a cabo durante los años 2018 y 2019. La finalidad fue conocer de qué forma los derechos humanos y los valores están presentes en algunos cursos del Centro de Estudios Generales (CEG), el Colegio Humanístico Costarricense y en la Maestría en Humanismo, Sociedad y Ambiente del CEG. El estudio se realizó como parte de las actividades del Proyecto Educación en Valores y Derechos Humanos en la Formación Docente de la Agencia de Cooperación Alemana (DAAD) desarrollado por la Universidad de Ösnabruck, la Universidad de Costa Rica y la Universidad Nacional (CEG-CIDE). Durante el 2019, cada universidad desarrolló el análisis documental de los programas y la aplicación de los grupos focales y de los cuestionarios en las unidades académicas seleccionadas. En el caso de la Universidad Nacional, para el análisis documental, se trabajó con los programas de los cursos del Colegio Humanístico Costarricense equiparables con los del Centro de Estudios Generales, correspondientes al área de profundización del 2018 y que fueron parte de un plan piloto. También se trabajó con los programas de los cursos del Centro de Estudios Generales y con los de la Maestría en Humanismo, Sociedad y Ambiente. Los resultados evidencian que la temática de derechos humanos y valores está presente de forma implícita en la mayoría de los programas de los cursos analizados. Se recomienda explicitar estos temas y abordarlos intencionadamente en los cursos, de manera que se logre mayor coherencia entre la teoría humanista con la práctica en el aula.
