En adición, se muestran y discuten datos merísticos y morfometrícos de los ejemplares capturados como soporte a la identificación. The objective of this contribution is to present new records of the occurrence of Sphoeroides pachygaster, based on 8 specimens deposited in a scientific collection of 175-313 mm in standard length weighing 178.7-1 010 g, which were captured south of Veracruz, southwestern Gulf of Mexico. In addition, meristic and morphometric data of the captured specimens are given and discussed as support for identification. O objetivo desta contribuição é apresentar novos registros de ocorrência de Sphoeroides pachygaster, com base em 8 espécimes depositados em uma coleção científica, de 175-313 mm de comprimento padrão e pesando 178.7-1.010g, capturados ao sul de Veracruz, sudoeste do Golfo do México. Além disso, são mostrados e discutidos dados merísticos e morfométricos dos espécimes capturados como suporte para a identificação.
