spelling	REVCOLCIENCIA24572021-10-25T20:55:05Z MANGROVE BIRDS OF THE COAST OF PIXVAE, VERAGUAS PROVINCE, REPUBLIC OF PANAMA AVES DEL MANGLAR DE LA COSTA DE PIXVAE, PROVINCIA DE VERAGUAS, REPÚBLICA DE PANAMÁ García, Victor Batista C., Omar Pixvae manglar diversidad avifauna Pixvae mangrove diversity birds The Pixve coast is characterized because it has strong pendants and many rivers that it comes from the mountain and it waters flow into the mangrove, very productive and diverse ecosystems, which makes the site an ideal place for studies the diversities of the birds. Between December 2019 and March 2020, avifaunics inventories were made, with the aim of documenting the diversity of birds present in the mangrove and how their conserve there. The methods included count points in three types of habitats (river edge, interior of the mangrove and estuary), in addition to the use of ornithological nets. Nine hundred twenty-six sightings were recorded, corresponding to 40 species, twenty-six families and thirteen orders, with Coragyps atratus Quiscalus mexicamus, Actitis macularius, and Bubulcus ibis being the most abundant species. The diversity of birds was high, which indicates that the mangrove serves as a habitat for many species. Los métodos incluyeron puntos de conteos en tres tipos de hábitat (borde de río, interior del manglar y estero), además se utilizaron redes ornitológicas. Se registraron 926 avistamientos donde se identificaron 13 órdenes, 26 familias y 40 especies, de las cuales Coragyps atratus, Quiscalus mexicanus, Actitis macularius y Bubulcus ibis fueron las especies más abundantes. La diversidad de aves fue alta (Dmg: 5.71) lo que indica que el manglar sirve de hábitat para muchas especies. El sitio del estero fue el más diverso, siendo el litoral fangoso el principal habitad que ofreció alimento y espacio para caminar.
