The sample consisted of 22 pregnant women. 32% of the total sample studied was active and 18.2% very active; with severe sedentary lifestyle, 27.3%; moderate, 9.1% and mild sedentary lifestyle, 13.6%. In other words, 50% were classified as active and very active; and the other half showed some level of sedentary lifestyle. The BMI was normal in 68% of the sample and overweight in the remaining 32%; the whole group of 18.2% very active, with normal BMI. The statistical test does not significantly associate the level of sedentary lifestyle with the BMI; However, it classifies as a risk factor for overweight, severe sedentary lifestyle; and as a protective factor, the level of assets.  Esta investigación con enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo descriptivo, transversal y analítico, se realizó con el objetivo de clasificar el nivel de sedentarismo de un grupo de gestantes y asociarlo con su índice de masa corporal, para lo cual se aplicó la prueba de Sedentarismo de Pérez- Rojas- García (modificación de la prueba de Manero). La muestra fue de 22 gestantes. El 32% del total de la muestra estudiada resultó activo y el 18.2%, muy activo; con sedentarismo severo, el 27.3%; moderado, el 9.1% y sedentarismo leve, el 13.6%. Es decir, el 50% se clasificó activo y muy activo; y la otra mitad mostró algún nivel de sedentarismo.   El IMC resultó normal en el 68% de la muestra y con sobre peso en el 32% restante; todo el grupo del18.2% muy activo, con IMC normal. La prueba estadística no asocia significativamente el nivel de sedentarismo con el IMC; sin embargo, clasifica como factor de riesgo para el sobre peso, el sedentarismo severo; y como factor protector, el nivel de activo.
