It is located two hours away from the center of this community, with a difficult road to access due to the dirt and mud, where there is hardly any electricity and even less internet in the students' homes. It is worth noting that two of them are now studying at the PSS. PSS professors conducted educational tours to train the students and teachers of that institution in Spanish, English, and Technology topics. However, due to the pandemic, these tours became a sensitization process for some teachers regarding virtual classes, as they were actual witnesses to the situation experienced by these students. Consequently, it is necessary to evaluate the sensitization the teachers underwent and how it modified their behavior with the students from the area during the pandemic. This essay was developed based on the following question: How did the educational tour influence the teachers' treatment of students in virtual classes during the pandemic? La Escuela de Secretariado Profesional (ESP) de la Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica, antes de la pandemia del COVID-19, como un proceso de extensión, realizó dos giras educativas al Liceo Rural de Lanas de Puriscal, San José, Costa Rica, el cual se ubica a dos horas del centro de dicha comunidad, cuyo camino es inaccesible: de tierra y barro; casi no hay electricidad y menos Internet en los hogares de los estudiantes. Cabe destacar que dos de ellos, son discentes de la ESP. Las giras se realizaron con el fin de que los docentes de la ESP capacitaran a los estudiantes y docentes de esa institución en temas de comunicación en español, inglés y tecnología. Sin embargo, a raíz de la pandemia, esas giras se convirtieron en un proceso de sensibilización para algunos docentes con las clases virtuales, ya que fueron testigos reales de la situación vivida por esos estudiantes. Por consiguiente, se desea valorar la sensibilización de la que fueron sujetos los docentes y cómo esta modificó su conducta con los estudiantes de la zona durante la pandemia. Este ensayo se trabajó a partir de la siguiente pregunta: ¿De qué manera incidió la gira en la relación de los docentes con los estudiantes en las clases durante la pandemia?
