Orientación profesional, Inserción laboral, Formación universitaria This qualitative descriptive study took up the challenge of analyzing the professional guidance for the effective labor insertion: of students from the commercial education major, term 2017. To achieve this purpose it was necessaryto diagnose the connection between vocational guidance and employability in the university level of education, as well as, to determine the added value that provides vocational guidance and working context acknowledgment forprofessional projection of the target group. Without a doubt, inputs obtained in this study served as the basis for rethinking training activities in the field of vocational guidance as job placement support. En el presente estudio cualitativo de tipo descriptivo se asumió el reto de analizar la orientación profesional para la efectiva inserción laboral del estudiantado de educación comercial, periodo 2017. Para alcanzar su cometido, fue necesario: (i) diagnosticar la vinculación entre la orientación profesional y la inserción laboral en la formación universitaria; (ii) determinar el valor agregado que brinda la orientación profesional y el conocimiento del contexto laboral para la proyección profesional del grupo meta; (iii) diseñar estrategias de orientación profesional que potencien una efectiva inserción laboral de la población investigada. En efecto, los insumos obtenidos en este estudio sirvieron de base para repensar el quehacer formativo en materia de orientación profesional como apoyo a la inserción laboral en la carrera de educación comercial.
