Twenty young men from Palmares decided to help the Government being part of ten thousand volunteer soldiers who defended their country. The story of one of them stands out. Después de la guerra civil de 1948, Costa Rica fue invadida por fuerzas extranjeras apoyadas por Anastasio Somoza, de Nicaragua, así como otros dictadores latinoamericanos que intentaban derrocar al líder democrático costarricense José Figueres. Veinte jóvenes de Palmares decidieron ayudar al gobierno de Costa Rica como parte de los diez mil soldados voluntarios que formaron el ejército para defender a su país. Se destaca el relato de uno de ellos.
