Approaches are developed around this character and on the terms “poetry and postmodern poets”, “literature written by women” and “mythemes”, which serve as support for the final discussion. As part of the conclusions, just as in the Odyssey there was not a single version of Penelope, neither was there a single version in the poetry written by Costa Rican women En este trabajo se analizan, en una selección de poemas escritos por siete autoras costarricenses, dos mitemas (espera y silencio), de la figura mitológica de Penélope, que surgen de tensiones narrativas en la Odisea. Se desarrollan aproximaciones alrededor de dicho personaje y de los términos “poesía y poetas posmodernos”, “literatura escrita por mujeres” y “mitemas”, que sirven como sustento para la discusión final. Como parte de las conclusiones, al igual que en la Odisea no existía una sola versión de Penélope, en la poesía escrita por mujeres costarricenses tampoco.
