This article aims to present stories associated with experiences lived as a woman politician in the exercise of these positions in local governments, for which eight women from different political parties who held positions in the municipalities were interviewed. The interview addressed different aspects related to the experience from the political participation of these women, among them, difficulties, achievements, challenges and concerns both from the positions they held, and inother social spaces. El presente trabajo busca compartir vivencias y retos de mujeres que han ejercido puestos de elección popular, específicamente como regidoras y síndicas municipales, en calidad de titulares y suplentes, en diferentes municipalidades de la provincia de Heredia durante el periodo 2010-2016. Este artículo pretende dar a conocer relatos asociados a experiencias vividas como mujer política en el ejercicio de estos cargos en los gobiernos locales, para lo cual se entrevistó a ocho mujeres de distintos partidos políticos que ocupaban puestos en las municipalidades. La entrevista abordó diferentes aspectos relacionados con la vivencia de la participación política de estas mujeres, entre estos: dificultades, logros, retos e inquietudes tanto desde lospuestos que ocupaban, como en otros espacios sociales.
