This article allows to rescue the main milestones in her life andher mythification as an artistic and cultural character. Luego de seis años del deceso de Chavela Vargas, resulta imposible negar sunotoriedad en el ámbito artístico, su transgresión a los roles femeninos de principiosdel siglo XX y su relación con artistas influyentes, todos aspectos que sehan desarrollado en sus múltiples biografías; aun así, estudios que expliquenla evolución de la cantante como personaje dentro de un ámbito cultural mexicanoson inexistentes. Este artículo permite rescatar los principales hitos en lavida de la artista y su mitificación como personaje artístico y cultural.
