In this regard, the 2030 Agenda addresses these issues through various Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are interrelated, such as SDGs 1, 2, 6, 12, 13 and 15. The health crisis caused by COVID-19 also exacerbated the obstacles to food security, especially in the most vulnerable areas, which are also being severely affected by extreme weather events that harm the primary economic sector from which vulnerable communities subsist. In response to this, the international community has undertaken several initiatives focused on eradicating or reducing food insecurity and promoting adequate nutrition. However, in the face of a technological era, it is necessary to incorporate new technologies in the creation of sustainable food systems that guarantee global food security. En la actualidad, uno de los problemas más graves que aqueja a la sociedad internacional es la crisis climática y la inminente carencia de alimentos, lo que repercute en la esfera socioeconómica dada la exorbitante alza de precios que limita el acceso de las personas a la canasta básica, vulnerando su derecho a una vida digna y a una alimentación adecuada. En relación a ello, la Agenda 2030 aborda estas problemáticas a través de diversos Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS), estando estos interrelacionados, como los ODS 1, 2, 6, 12, 13 y 15. La crisis sanitaria por COVID-19 también agudizó los obstáculos en materia de seguridad alimentaria, especialmente en las áreas más vulnerables, las cuales también están siendo gravemente afectadas por los eventos climatológicos extremos que perjudican el sector económico primario del cual las comunidades en condiciones de vulnerabilidad subsisten. Ante esto, la comunidad internacional ha llevado a cabo diversas iniciativas con enfoque en la erradicación o, en su defecto, disminución de la inseguridad alimentaria y la promoción de una nutrición adecuada. Sin embargo, frente a una era tecnológica, se vuelve necesaria la incorporación de las nuevas tecnologías en la creación de sistemas alimentarios sostenibles que garanticen la seguridad alimentaria global.
