In this regard, the application of a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) system plays a key role as it allows organizations to monitor, evaluate and strengthen the impact they seek to achieve in each project they implement. For the elaboration of this article, a qualitative methodology was applied based on an exhaustive documentary review of search engines, NGO manuals, websites, articles, theses, among others, in order to determine the importance of the implementation of a MEAL system of influence, establishing a comparison with the traditional MEAL, identifying the main differences, advantages and challenges. As a result, although traditional systems have been widely adopted by most organizations in the world, the incorporation of an influence MEAL system in organizations for their programs, projects and social actions represents an extremely valuable alternative to apply in their strategic plans and to promote strategies that are sustainable over time and that generate impact and incidence in civil society. Las organizaciones que ejecutan programas o proyectos buscan generar transformaciones en el desarrollo de los territorios donde intervienen por medio de la incidencia en los titulares de obligaciones, responsabilidades y derechos; en este sentido, la aplicación de un sistema de Monitoreo, Evaluación, Rendición de Cuentas y Aprendizajes (MEAL) juega un papel importante ya que permite que organizaciones den seguimiento, evalúen y fortalezcan el impacto que buscan alcanzar en cada proyecto que ejecutan. Para la elaboración del presente artículo se aplicó una metodología cualitativa basada en la revisión documental exhaustiva de motores de búsqueda, manuales de Organizaciones no Gubernamentales, sitios web, artículos, tesis, entre otros, con el fin de determinar la importancia de la aplicación de un sistema de MEAL de influencia, estableciendo una comparación con el MEAL tradicional, identificando las principales diferencias, ventajas y desafíos. Como resultado, si bien los sistemas tradicionales han sido ampliamente adoptados por la mayoría de las organizaciones en el mundo, la incorporación de un sistema de MEAL de influencia en las organizaciones para sus programas, proyectos y acciones sociales representa una alternativa sumamente valiosa para aplicar en sus planes estratégicos y promover estrategias que sean sostenibles en el tiempo y que generen impacto e incidencia en la sociedad civil.
