ACEVEDO B., MEILING Fatiga por Compasión Burnout Subescalas Trauma Vicario Fatiga por Empatía Estrés Traumático Secundario Compassion Fatigue Burnout Subscales Vicarious Trauma Empathy Fatigue Secondary Traumatic Stress This research focuses on the emotional fatigue that comes from the health care of another, and how this affects hospital volunteers within the main hospitals in Panama. Compassion fatigue and also known as compassion wear or empathy fatigue, or Secondary Traumatic Stress, has been poorly studied in Panama, specifically in hospital volunteer groups. The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) together with the Ministry of Health of Panama, (MINSA), mentions some actions of the health system, such as: “Implement institutional changes at the level of the health workers monitoring system (particularly to prevent vicarious trauma, Burnout syndrome and Compassion Fatigue”). This leads us to think about this problem in Panama, within the group of hospital volunteers that Compassion Fatigue can be measured since there is little evidence of scientific evidence. Therefore, a psychometric measurement will be carried out with Cronbach's Alpha and Factor Analysis, in order to obtain the reliability of the internal consistency of the Compassion and Satisfaction Fatigue Questionnaire- (ProQOL-vIV). Esta investigación se centra en el cansancio emocional que sobreviene del cuidado de la salud de otro, y cómo esto afecta a los voluntarios hospitalarios dentro de los principales hospitales de Panamá.   La fatiga por compasión y también conocida como desgaste por compasión o fatiga por empatía, o Estrés Traumático Secundario, ha sido poco estudiado en Panamá, específicamente en los grupos de voluntariado hospitalario.   La Organización Panamericana de la Salud (OPS) y la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) en conjunto con el Ministerio de Salud de Panamá, (MINSA), menciona algunas acciones del sistema de salud, tal como: “Implementar cambios institucionales a nivel del sistema monitoreo de los trabajadores de la salud (particularmente para prevenir el trauma vicario, el síndrome de Burnout y la Fatiga de Compasión”.   Ello nos lleva a pensar en esta problemática en Panamá, dentro del grupo de voluntarios hospitalarios que se puede medir la Fatiga de Compasión ya que hay pocos datos de evidencia científica. Para obtener la confiabilidad se utilizó el coeficiente de consistencia interna Alfa de Cronbach y para la validez, el análisis factorial, con rotación varimax y el Cuestionario de Fatiga de Compasión y Satisfacción- (ProQOL-vIV).
