Rojas Salas, Manuel At a time when punitive populism is more than abundant and where criminal legislation is used and presented to society as the ideal way to solve the problem of crime, it is important to reflect on issues that have been left aside. in view of the rush to enact penal reforms. One of these aspects is precisely the one related to the age of consent, which implies recognizing the right of minors to sexual self-determination. En momentos en donde el populismo punitivo es más que abundante y en donde la legislación penal es utilizada y presentada ante la sociedad como la forma idónea de solucionar el problema de la criminalidad, resulta importante reflexionar sobre temas que se han dejado de lado en vista de la prisa por promulgar reformas penales. Uno de esos aspectos viene a ser precisamente el relativo a la edad del consentimiento, que implica reconocer el derecho de las personas menores de edad a la autodeterminación sexual.
