Objective: To characterize the epidemiological behavior of COVID-19 in teachers and administrators of the University of El Salvador Faculty of Medicine in March 2020 to 2022. Methodology: A quantitative, cross-sectional descriptive approach was used; Since a description of the epidemiological behavior of the COVID-19 disease in the teaching and administrative staff of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of El Salvador was made, the information was collected through a questionnaire in Google forms sent to emails institutional and subsequently the data obtained were downloaded into a Microsoft Excel matrix for processing, classification and analysis. Results: People who suffer from blood pressure and other comorbidities reported having suffered from COVID-19 during the period from March 2020 to March 2022; of which 63 are female and 27 are male. Of the 90 respondents who fell ill, 74 are teachers and 16 are administrators, also detecting that people with blood group O positive and A positive were more affected, where the most relevant symptoms and signs that occurred were fever with or without chills, headache, odynophagia, fatigue, anosmia/ageusia and cough. The incidence rate was 60 per-100 habitants who tested positive for COVID19, with females being the most affected. COVID-19, la enfermedad provocada por el virus SARS-CoV-2, es declarada pandemia global por la OMS el 11 de marzo de 2020, posteriormente, comienza a acelerar su propagación en América. Objetivo: Caracterizar el comportamiento epidemiológico de la COVID-19 en docentes y administrativos de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de El Salvador en marzo 2020 a 2022. Metodología: Se utilizó un enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo descriptivo transversal; ya que se realizó una descripción del comportamiento epidemiológico de la enfermedad COVID-19 en el personal docente y administrativo de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de El Salvador, la información se recopiló a través de un cuestionario en Google Forms enviado a los correos electrónicos institucionales y posteriormente los datos obtenidos se descargaron en una matriz de Microsoft Excel para su procesamiento, clasificación y análisis. Resultados: Las personas que padecen de presión arterial y otras comorbilidades manifestaron haber padecido de COVID-19 durante el período de marzo 2020 a marzo 2022; de los cuales 63 son del sexo femenino y 27 del sexo masculino. De los 90 encuestados que enfermaron, 74 son docentes y 16 administrativos también detectando que las personas con grupo sanguíneo O positivo y A positivo se vieron más afectadas, donde los síntomas y signos más relevantes que se presentaron fueron fiebre con o sin escalofríos, cefalea, odinofagia, fatiga, anosmia/ageusia y tos. La tasa de incidencia fue de 60 por 100 habitantes que resultaron positivos a COVID19 siendo el sexo femenino más afectado.
