According to the author, the modern and capitalist colonial gender system, based on hierarchical dichotomies, is characterized by excluding the principle of non-contradiction. In this framework of analysis, the status of colonized females is that of radical alterity. Based on this thesis, Lugones examines the decolonial contributions to the construction of a political theory of Latin American feminisms. In this sense, it arises as an approach to the problem: does upholding the decolonial thesis imply bringing -today- the policy against racism to the center of feminist politics? As a hypothesis, “taking seriously” Lugones’ thesis implies radicalizing the critique of hegemonic Western feminism in its complicity with global racism. A lo largo de su obra -singularmente atenta a las contradicciones, la complejidad y las coaliciones- María Lugones nos deja como legado el proyecto teórico político de llevar la lucha antirracista al centro de la lucha feminista; puesto que, siguiendo un análisis lógico, un feminismo que no es antirracista, es racista. La pensadora decolonial caracteriza el sistema de género colonial moderno y capitalista como excluyente del principio de no contradicción, al estar basado en dicotomías jerárquicas. En este marco de análisis, el estatuto de las hembras colonizadas es el de alteridad radical. A partir de esta tesis, Lugones examina los aportes decoloniales para la construcción de una teoría política de los feminismos latinoamericanos. En este sentido, surge como planteamiento del problema: ¿sostener la tesis decolonial implica llevar -hoy- la política contra el racismo al centro de la política feminista? A manera de hipótesis, “tomar en serio” la tesis de Lugones implica radicalizar la crítica al feminismo occidental hegemónico en su complicidad con el racismo global.
