Thus, we will say that the affirmation “true life is another life”, fits both Foucault’s cynics and the professor himself. In fact, his project of a historical ontology of ourselves leads to an “eventualization” of the present according to which it is always possible for it to be transformed, with which we can say that Foucault also maintains that “another life” is true. In order to justify this, we will first mention the central character of the dimensions of truth, power and the subject in Foucault’s historical ontology of ourselves, and then show how power relations, in their productive character, are the common denominator in the way these dimensions are articulated. In this way we will see how this “eventualization” of the present supposes that true life can always be another. El presente trabajo se vale de la lectura foucaultiana del cinismo antiguo para proponer una posible interpretación de la obra de Foucault, y en particular, del complejo vínculo entre la verdad, el poder y el sujeto. Así, diremos que la afirmación “la verdadera vida es una vida otra”, le cabe tanto a los cínicos de Foucault como al profesor mismo. En efecto, su proyecto de una ontología histórica de nosotros mismos desemboca en una “eventualización” del presente según la cual siempre es posible que este sea transformado, con lo cual podemos decir que también Foucault sostiene que la “vida otra” es verdadera. Para justificar esto primero mentaremos el carácter central de las dimensiones de la verdad, el poder y el sujeto en la ontología histórica de nosotros mismos que realiza Foucault, para luego mostrar cómo es que las relaciones de poder, en su carácter productivo, son el denominador común en el modo en que estas dimensiones se articulan. De este modo veremos cómo esta “eventualización” del presente supone que la verdadera vida siempre puede ser otra.
