It is based on the hypothesis that Faust has a capital importance in the construction of the concept “automatic subject”, and that the use of citation by Marx does not act only as an amplifier of linguistic expressiveness, but it has epistemic value. Taking as an analytical framework the optic of the “critique of value”, it is tried to demonstrate that Faust is subsumed, incorporated, like a constituent part of the whole that is his theory of value. Keywords: Faust, automatic subject, capital, value criticism, Karl Marx.
