Likewise, measures such as Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMA) and the European Union's Green Deal influence this sector. Through a literature review, this article analyzes the interrelations between voluntary standards, NAMA, and the potential to comply with Green Deal requirements, as well as the impact on the productive sector. Standards can contribute to sustainable development goals and emissions reduction, but they are not the ultimate solution to improve the conditions of primary producers. From a market access perspective, productive organizations that have applied sustainability standards and countries with NAMA strategies for the coffee sector are better prepared to comply with the Green Deal. However, the need for public policies to support the sectors, the generation of adequate financing mechanisms, and prospective studies to improve the positioning in the value chains continue to be necessary elements of action that must be strengthened in the short and medium term. Finally, there is still pending conciliation within the World Trade Organization on how these measures will be incorporated into its operating structure. El aumento de normas ambientales voluntarias en la producción de café ha sido un tema relevante, especialmente en el contexto de la sostenibilidad y la cadena global de valor. De igual manera, medidas como las acciones de mitigación nacionalmente apropiadas (NAMA) y el Pacto Verde de la Unión Europea también están influyendo de manera creciente en este sector. Mediante una revisión de literatura y de las acciones ejecutadas en las temáticas anteriores, este artículo analiza las interrelaciones existentes entre los estándares voluntarios, los NAMA y el potencial de cumplimiento de requisitos del pacto verde, así como el impacto sobre el sector productivo. Los estándares pueden contribuir a los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible y a la reducción de emisiones, pero no son la solución definitiva para mejorar las condiciones de los productores primarios. Desde una perspectiva de acceso al mercado, las organizaciones productivas que han aplicado estándares de sostenibilidad y países con estrategiasNAMA para el sector caficultor están mejor preparados para cumplir con el Pacto Verde. Sin embargo, la necesidad de política públicas de apoyo a los sectores, generación de mecanismos de financiamiento adecuados y estudios prospectivos para mejorar el posicionamiento en las cadenas de valor continúan siendo elementos de acción necesarios que deben fortalecerse en el corto y mediano plazo. Por último, está pendiente aún la conciliación, a lo interno de la Organización Mundial del Comercio, sobre cómo se incorporará este tipo de medidas dentro de su estructura de funcionamiento.
