Este artículo analiza el diseño curricular de la carrera Enseñanza de los Estudios Sociales y Educación Cívica, de la Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica, con el objetivo de que responda a formular un perfil de salida acorde a las necesidades de la enseñanza de la Educación Cívica, con el fin de rediseñar el actual perfil de salida del Bachillerato en dicha carrera, para que concuerde con el contexto socio – educativo en el que se desenvuelven los docentes de Educación Cívica.
